One of the primary commitments of His Holiness 14th Dalai Lama is to promote human values of compassion, loving-kindness and forgiveness among persons of all walks of life.  He is also committed to promoting religious harmony and understanding among the world’s major religious traditions.  On September 9-10, Namgyal Monastery will be hosting the Inaugural Interfaith and Secular Ethics Conference at His Holiness 14th Dalai Lama Library and Learning Center.  There will be over twenty religious leaders from the Ithaca Community representing eight different religious traditions in discussions and interfaith dialogues about compassion, loving-kindness and forgiveness.

In preparation for this event, Geshe-la will devote this weekend intensive to answering questions from students regarding Tibetan Buddhist views and practices of compassion, loving-kindness and forgiveness as well as how best to talk about these values in dialogues and discussions with our brothers and sisters of other faiths.  This will benefit students of all levels, both in our interactions with other attendees at the conference as well as in our daily lives with friends and family members of other religious traditions.  This is a unique opportunity to bring your questions about compassion, loving-kindness and forgiveness from the Tibetan Buddhist perspective and the challenges you face in living these values in your daily life.
